چکیده
Abstract We reconsider the all-optical weak homodyne-measurement based experimental schemes aimed at revealing Bell nonclassicality (‘nonlocality’) of a single photon. focus on put forward by Tan et al (TWC, 1991) and Hardy (1994). In our previous work we show that TWC experiment can be described local hidden variable model, hence claimed is apparent. The proof proposed remains impeccable. investigate which feature Hardy’s approach crucial to disclose nonclassicality. There are consequential differences between setups: (i) initial state superposition photon excitation with vacuum in one input modes 50–50 beamsplitter. case there no component. (ii) final measurements proposal settings specified presence or absence oscillator field (on/off). auxiliary fields constant, only phases varied. setup violation realism occurs due varying strength oscillators. Still, does not need operate fully on/off detection scheme. Thus, Hardy-like cannot attributed single-photon alone. It consequence its interference photons from fields. Neither it joint modes, as this measurement setting dependent. Despite giving spurious violations realism, scheme serve an entanglement indicator, for state. Nevertheless analogue indicator intensity rates rather than just intensities overperforms it.

Better Bell Inequality Violation by Collective Measurements
The standard Bell inequality experiments test for violation of local realism by repeatedly making local measurements on individual copies of an entangled quantum state. Here we investigate the possibility of increasing the violation of a Bell inequality by making collective measurements. We show that the nonlocality of bipartite pure entangled states, quantified by their maximal violation of th...
متن کاملExperimental Bell inequality violation with an atom and a photon.
We report the measurement of a Bell inequality violation with a single atom and a single photon prepared in a probabilistic entangled state. This is the first demonstration of such a violation with particles of different species. The entanglement characterization of this hybrid system may also be useful in quantum information applications.

متن کاملBell inequality violation with two remote atomic qubits.
We observe violation of a Bell inequality between the quantum states of two remote Yb+ ions separated by a distance of about 1 m with the detection loophole closed. The heralded entanglement of two ions is established via interference and joint detection of two emitted photons, whose polarization is entangled with each ion. The entanglement of remote qubits is also characterized by full quantum...
متن کاملViolation of Bell ’ s Inequality using interferometers physically separated by 35 meters
A Franson-type test of the Bell-inequality is presented. Energy and time entangled photons at wavelengths of 704 and 1310 nm are produced by para-metric downconversion in KNbO3 and are sent through optical fibers into a bulk-optical (704 nm) and a fiber-interferometer (1310 nm), respectively. The two interferometers are located 35 meters aside from one another. Using Faraday-mirrors in the fibe...
